Contretanz "Il trionfo delle donne," K. 607

The score on IMSLP is incomplete, there are no parts, and unlike K. 535, nobody has published an alternative version either. So the piece simply doesn't get played — there's nothing to put on a stand, and what does exist stops short of a performable whole. This edition fixes both problems. The missing portion is filled in, and the whole piece is newly engraved with clean parts, leaving Mozart's orchestration exactly as he left it.

• •An 11-bar completion of the missing section. Written from the piece's own material and in Mozart's style, so the contredanse holds together and can actually be performed start to finish.
• •Faithful to the original. No re-orchestration, no reassigned lines, no modernized instrumentation. Mozart's scoring as written.
• •Horn parts in both E-flat and F. The original E-flat part is engraved as written, plus a transposed part in F so modern players can take whichever they prefer.

• •Newly engraved throughout. Clean, legible, current notation practice with marked measure numbers — not a scan of an 18th-century plate.
• •Score and individual parts. Everything you need to rehearse and perform, ready to print.
